NIA conducts raids at six locations in Tamil Nadu in connection with PFI conspiracy case; two individuals apprehended

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at six locations in Tamil Nadu linked to banned group Popular Front of India (PFI). Two people have been detained, including Mohammad Qaiser, the PFI regional president in Madurai and Sadiq Ali, the SDPI district secretary of Theni.

The raids are still ongoing in Chennai, Madurai, Dindigul, and Theni districts. The case, registered by the NIA last year, involves conspiracy and unlawful activities aimed at inciting religious enmity and disturbing communal harmony.

The PFI has been accused of organizing weapon training for its cadres and using them to target chosen individuals and groups.
